Chikurin Gallery is an internet art gallery specialised in traditional Japanese art. In our collection you will find a great variety of Japanese scroll paintings (also known as 'kakejiku' or 'kakemono'), drawings, painting albums and of woodblock prints ('ukiyo-e') and woodblock printed albums.

Apart from that we have an extensive collection of (second hand) reference books on subjects like woodblock prints, surimono, illustrated books and paintings for sale.

The meaning of the name Chikurin Gallery refers to the Japanese word for bamboo ('chikurin'). The bamboo is year through green and represents strenght and perseverance. Chikurin Gallery was founded in 2007.
